There are many programs used inside the server environment to analyze logs and provide analysis of many different metrics of the site. Most times your server / hosting company will provide some sort of stats program for you, sometimes even two. So PageRank is Google’s way of measuring your backlinks, hopefully organic ones. This is supposed to be how Google determines a website can be trusted. Other websites have seen fit to link to it of their own merit to it adds to its trustworthiness. I don’t disagree, however that’s not the whole story.

Google is all over duplicate content, they will penalize you for it, either by remove some or all of your sites pages from it’s results. But what is duplicate content?
