Google has made a significant and rather ground breaking change in the length of snippets they pull for your website. The changes are an serious improvement for searchers but if you site on your hands they could be quite detrimental for your website and click thru.

Google says you can now choose a location for your content per directory, domain, and sub domain to help them improve the geographic search results.

There has of course been much theory as how how one might incite such an occurrence, but nothing concrete that I have seen. Google says in the announcement that the selection for displaying sitelinks has many factors within the algorithm. They do however expound of a few.

I don’t know if this is new, but I have never seen this notice before on a search page. Clearly Google is taking copyright and trademark issues very seriously. Go Google!
